Livingstone Advises on the Sale of Tecalum to Workerbee Capital
Livingstone’s industrial team has advised on the sale of Tecalum to Workerbee Capital. With this transaction, the aluminum machining parts manufacturer gains the backing of a new financial partner committed to accelerating its growth.
Founded in 1989 and based in Tortellà (Girona), Tecalum is a leading company in the aluminum machining sector, not only in Spain but also in international markets, particularly in France. Following the sale, Marc Sansalvadó will remain involved with Tecalum through his company Anduril Inv, by reinvesting and retaining a minority stake.
Workerbee Capital is an independent investment firm specializing in investing in solid, growth-potential Spanish SMEs. The firm focuses on market-leading companies in niche sectors with experienced management teams and clear growth prospects.
Jordi Franch, Founding Partner of Workerbee, commented: “This acquisition represents a new investment for Workerbee Capital. Since we began our activities in 2020, we have sought out and invested in companies like Tecalum. Our aim is to manage the company alongside its management team, contributing value and experience to help accelerate its growth. Tecalum is a solid company that designs, manufactures, and markets high-value-added products and has top-tier clients, all supported by highly skilled and experienced employees and executives. With the support of Marc Sansalvadó, who remains involved in the project, and the backing of the other investors who have placed their trust in Workerbee and Tecalum, we are confident that the company will continue on its projected growth path in the coming years.”
Marc Sansalvadó, Majority Shareholder of Tecalum, stated, “Both my partner Caixa Innvierte Industria and I knew it was the right time to find a partner who could continue driving Tecalum’s growth while allowing us to step back after several years at the helm. It has been a pleasure to work with Caixa Innvierte Industria, and I trust that this new stage will be just as exciting as the one we’ve experienced so far. Workerbee has recognized the value and potential in Tecalum, and we are delighted with their proposal, which ensures that Tecalum’s talented professionals can continue to advance the company’s growth plan. I would also like to thank Livingstone Partners for being by our side from start to finish. Their role has been fundamental throughout the process, and they have undoubtedly been a key part in making this transaction possible.”
Jorge Tuñí, Partner at Livingstone, added, “It has been a pleasure working with Marc Sansalvadó, Caixa Innvierte Industria, and Tecalum’s management team, led by Felix Jorbà and Marta Robiras. These past few months have been intense but incredibly rewarding, full of effort and enthusiasm for this project. From the outset, we knew that Workerbee was the right partner for this company, capable of driving the growth that awaits in this new chapter. I sincerely wish Tecalum and Workerbee every success in this new phase.”
