Livingstone Foundation
Livingstone is committed to supporting initiatives that give back to our communities. We believe access to basic life necessities and educational opportunities are the key to self-sustainability to create a meaningful future and should be available to everyone. Through the Livingstone Foundation, we collaborate closely with local organizations in Zambia to support a range of impactful initiatives.
In partnership with Project Luangwa, we have not only constructed but also continue to maintain a vital rural primary school serving almost 500 children.
In addition to providing infrastructure, we finance teachers and innovative teaching programs that enrich the educational experience for these students. Moreover, we are committed to sponsoring exceptionally gifted children from impoverished backgrounds, ensuring they have the support needed to progress through the school system and realize their full potential.

Beyond education, we also prioritize enhancing access to clean water in the communities we serve. Our efforts in water access projects aim to improve health outcomes and quality of life for residents, fostering sustainable development and resilience.
Through these combined efforts, the Livingstone Foundation remains dedicated to making a lasting impact on education, water access, and community development in rural Zambia.
Our Key Initiatives
The Livingstone Foundation and Livingstone Partners support developing communities through education and health.
Student Sponsorship
We provide opportunities and hope for the future through our sponsorship program for high school, vocational, and university students.
Preschool and Primary Education
Since the reconstruction of the Kapita school in 2014, we have maintained several schools, supplied them with furniture and school supplies, and financed teachers’ salaries. Additionally, several classrooms have been built in different schools in the area.
Digital Learning
Our foundation was an early adopter of the Edulution math and English program, enabling us to introduce digital learning into mainstream education. We plan to take the program to its next phase soon by introducing tablets in all classrooms and enabling students to learn all subjects using Mwabu’s innovative educational system.
Vocational Training at Chikowa
We support the Chikowa Vocational Training Center, which offers courses in automotive, agriculture, masonry, carpentry, cooking, and sewing. We also send funds for reforestation in the surrounding area.
Wildlife Education and Conservation
We fund programs for high school graduates who have the potential to become leaders in local wildlife and nature conservation.
Livingstone Partners Volunteering Program
In collaboration with local NGOs, our volunteer program enables our employees to visit South Luangwa and provide students with skills for higher education and employment.
Clean Water
The foundation works with Makolekole, tribal chiefs, and residents to ensure each village can access clean water on their own land without the need to walk several kilometers in search of water, avoiding the associated dangers.
Ufulu Pads
For many girls in this area of Zambia, menstruation means missing school for a week each month, causing them to fall behind their peers. They eventually drop out and marry prematurely. With this program, each girl receives a pack of washable sanitary pads, promoting equal educational opportunities.
Empowering Communities Through Education
First Visit to Zambia
Neil Collen and Ree Gillett’s initial visits to Africa revealed stark realities of poverty and educational deficiencies in rural Zambia. Witnessing the challenges firsthand, Neil, inspired by Livingstone Partners’ connection to the area, proposed rebuilding a school, a vision enthusiastically embraced by his international partners.

Creation of Fundación Livingstone in Spain
The growing support from friends, family, and clients prompted the establishment of the Livingstone Foundation in 2014, led by trustees Neil Collen, Ree Gillet, Majo Grau, Sonia Giner, and Ximo Villarroya. The foundation serves as a legal framework for impactful projects in Zambia.
New School – New Hope for the Future
Funded by Livingstone Partners, the new Kapita School was celebrated in a groundbreaking ceremony in 2014 and inaugurated in 2016. This initiative has revitalized community spirit and provides renewed hope for a brighter future through education.

Commitment to Project Oversight
Annual visits confirm that all donations and grants directly benefit projects, emphasizing transparency and accountability. The foundation operates entirely on a volunteer basis, dedicating efforts to Zambia and organizing fundraising events.
Livingstone Partners Volunteer Program
Livingstone Partners International has been pivotal in supporting education initiatives, such as rebuilding Kapita School and implementing the Edulution math program. In 2023, we launched a volunteer program with local NGOs, Project Luangwa and Chipembele, focusing on equipping young graduates with essential skills for higher education and employment.

Edulution – Math Support Program
Livingstone Partners’ funding has significantly enhanced math education at Kapita School through the Edulution program. By improving math proficiency, the program opens doors to higher education and economic opportunities, empowering local youth to break the cycle of poverty.
The Livingstone Foundation and Livingstone Partners continue to collaborate passionately, transforming lives and fostering sustainable development in Zambia’s rural communities. Their joint efforts exemplify a commitment to making a meaningful difference through education and empowerment.
