Livingstone has advised Hapam on the acquisition of EMSPEC
Livingstone is pleased to announce the firm’s Benelux team has acted as M&A advisor of Hapam on the acquisition of EMSPEC. Transaction terms were not disclosed.
EMSPEC, a leading Canadian manufacturer of high-voltage disconnectors headquartered in Montreal, has been acquired by Hapam. EMSPEC has important market shares in the USA, Canada, Australia, and several other regions, and is a pioneer in innovative switchgear solutions.
EMSPEC manufactures high-quality switching equipment, including a complete range of high- and medium-voltage disconnectors such as the folding vertical break, vertical break, center break, double end break, side break, semi-pantograph, indoor and outdoor tilt switches, grounding switches, manual and motor operators, and a complete range of accessories. EMSPEC will continue to operate as an independent brand, meaning that customers will continue to have access to the existing sales and service channels that they are used to.
Hapam, part of the Van Halteren Group, is an independent manufacturer of high-voltage disconnectors and earthing switches with an excellent performance and world-wide reputation. Hapam has supplied over 200,000 disconnectors in more than 125 countries worldwide. The continuous improvement of materials and technologies has resulted in high-quality products that are easy to install and need minimal maintenance. Next to the Netherlands, Hapam also has factories in Poland (Lodz) and Vietnam (Hanoi). Hapam is one of the leading disconnector manufacturers in the world.
The transaction was signed in February 2023.
“The acquisition of Emspec is an important strategic step for Hapam”, said Aart Veerman, CEO of Hapam.
