Livingstone has acted as advisor to the owners of Tele-Radio i Lysekil AB (“Tele Radio”) in connection with a private consortium becoming a minority shareholder.
Tele Radio develops, manufactures, and markets products for industrial radio control. The company, founded nearly 60 years ago, has established a strong position in the global market for industrial radio control by offering innovative products based on proprietary technology. The company is headquartered in Askim, just outside Gothenburg, has its own production facility in China, and sells through its own subsidiaries in ten countries across Europe, the U.S., and Asia, as well as an extensive network of resellers and partners globally. Tele Radio has just over 150 employees and generates revenue of approximately SEK 175 million with strong profitability.
“After significantly expanding Tele Radio, we felt it was time for the next step in the company’s development,” says the company’s principal owner, Bertil Görling. The solution involving a private consortium combines the best of both worlds—we gain access to a wide range of diverse experiences and additional expertise to support our continued growth journey, while simultaneously strengthening our financial position and enabling acquisitions as part of our expansion strategy, continues Bertil Görling.
Livingstone has worked with Bertil Görling, the other owners, and the company through a thorough process to find the right investor. Bertil Görling continues:
For me, it has been important to find an investor whose values align with the culture we have created at Tele Radio. It feels like we’ve found the right fit, and that we’re poised for fantastic growth as we bring our extensive industry experience and combine it with the forward-thinking approach and expertise the new co-owners bring to the table. We look forward to the next chapter and have already begun working on a number of strategic initiatives together.
Investor interest in Tele Radio has been strong as a result of the company’s revenue growth and solid profitability. With long-standing customer relationships and a strong product portfolio in a growing industry, Tele Radio represents a well-positioned company that plays a prominent role in its niche internationally. “I am convinced that, with its new co-owners, Tele Radio can take another major step forward in its development toward becoming a leader in industrial radio control,” says Anders Jacobson, partner at Livingstone.
