Livingstone has advised the Reimers family on the sale of their shares in Autohof Reimers GmbH and the car rental company Hintelmann Mietwagen GmbH to ROSIER Group, one of Germany’s largest owner-managed automotive retail groups, headquartered in Menden.
Founded in 1951, Autohof Reimers is headquartered in Rellingen and today employs more than 300 people across six sites in two German states in the Greater Hamburg area – one of Germany’s most economically significant regions. The company operates a broad brand portfolio of Volkswagen Group, including Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Škoda, CUPRA, and SEAT, complemented by a sizeable rental-car offering serving both private and corporate customers.
The transaction creates an owner-managed automotive retail group with an annual revenue of more than €1 billion and approximately 1,500 employees. Beyond expanding its geographic footprint, ROSIER will significantly broaden its brand portfolio: Going forward, ROSIER will offer Mercedes-Benz, smart, Audi, Volkswagen passenger cars, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Peugeot, Maxus, FUSO, and Vespa, and will add Škoda, SEAT, and CUPRA to its lineup through this acquisition. Post transaction, ROSIER will operate across 22 locations with 30 dealerships in Northern Germany, North Rhine–Westphalia, Lower Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt—from the Sauerland region to Sylt.
“We are very pleased to bring together two strong partners and families—Rosier and Reimers—who place great value on both progress and tradition,” says Heinrich Rosier, Managing Partner of Rosier Group. “170 years of expertise have come together,” added Paul Rosier, a fourth-generation member of the family management team.
In addition, ROSIER intends to work with REIMERS to further expand its presence in the Hamburg metropolitan region and to continue the company’s growth trajectory. An investment in a new commercial vehicle center at the Rellingen site is already planned for 2026. The REIMERS brand will remain in place in Northern Germany. “With the ROSIER Group as new owner, we see the future of our company secured in the best possible way,” said Gunter and Gerd Reimers, who will soon retire.
Nico Reimers, Managing Director of Reimers Holding GmbH, says: “We are delighted to have found a strategic partner in the ROSIER Group that is committed to sustainable growth in the Hamburg metropolitan region while preserving the values of the family-owned business Reimers. We would like to express our special thanks to the Livingstone team, which supported us throughout the entire M&A process with professional process management and extensive transaction experience, thereby making a decisive contribution to successfully safeguarding the life’s work of Gunter and Gerd Reimers.”
Frederik Schreurs, Associate Partner at Livingstone, added: “It was a great pleasure to support the Reimers family as part of their structured succession solution and to identify ROSIER as a long-term, owner-managed partner that consistently invests in growth. In an automotive retail market that has been consolidating at an increasing pace for years, REIMERS is now excellently positioned for the future. We would like to thank the family for the close collaboration and the trust they placed in us.”
