Livingstone continues to expand its international teams, investing both in attracting experienced advisory professionals and in the targeted development of talent from within the organisation. In Seoul, Korea, Livingstone welcomes Mona J. Sue, an experienced M&A advisor and senior executive, as a new Partner, while Sebastian Engelbrecht has been promoted to Associate Partner in the Frankfurt office.
Mona J. Sue Joins Livingstone Korea as Partner Effective September 1
Mona will work closely with David Tong Han and Livingstone’s international offices to originate and execute domestic and cross-border transactions. Her particular focus will be on the Consumer, Retail, Beauty & Personal Care sectors as well as other consumer-related industries. In addition, she will support Korean companies in their international expansion and international clients in identifying and pursuing opportunities in the Korean market. Mona and David already share a long-standing professional relationship dating back to their time together at Credit Suisse. Their combined transaction experience provides a strong foundation for further expanding Livingstone’s presence in Korea and developing its cross-border transaction business.
Mona began her career as an Investment Manager at IMM Financial Group in Seoul before moving into Investment Banking at UBS and Credit Suisse. Based in New York, Hong Kong and Seoul, she advised companies on M&A and capital markets transactions, with a particular focus on the Consumer, Retail and Healthcare sectors. She subsequently held senior positions in Corporate Strategy and Investments at Shinsegae Group, including within the Executive Office of Shinsegae Department Store, and later served as Senior Vice President, Strategy at Shinsegae International. Most recently, she founded Monas Lab, advising companies and investors on M&A, market entry and strategic growth matters in Korea. This combines her Investment Banking and M&A experience with the perspective gained from corporate leadership and entrepreneurship.

Sebastian Engelbrecht Promoted to Associate Partner in Frankfurt
In parallel, Livingstone strengthens its Partner team in Germany through an internal promotion: Sebastian Engelbrecht has been promoted to Associate Partner in the Frankfurt office, effective September 1. Sebastian joined Livingstone in April 2025 and advises on both sell-side and buy-side transactions. Sebastian has more than ten years of international transaction experience in Technology & Business Services, with particular expertise in Digital Infrastructure. Since joining Livingstone, Sebastian has quickly established himself as a key member of the Frankfurt team, both in transaction execution and in collaborating across the wider team. His promotion recognises his contribution to date, his focus on proactive deal origination and Livingstone’s commitment to his continued development within the firm.
