Livingstone advised vitronet Holding GmbH, a portfolio company of the funds advised by Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG), on the acquisition of DIROBA GmbH & Co. KG, a general contractor and drilling specialist for cable & pipeline civil engineering. The parties have agreed not to disclose the key points of the transaction.

DIROBA GmbH & Co. KG is a specialist for cable & pipeline civil engineering in the field of controlled horizontal drilling, civil engineering works, cable pulling, laying & installation. The company can offer the entire pipeline construction in trenchless construction completely from one source and act as a general contractor in fiber optic expansion. Clients are mostly large customers from the telecommunications sector (e.g. Telekom or Vodafone) as well as municipalities and energy suppliers. The acquisition strengthens and optimizes the vitronet Group’s existing portfolio of services along the value chain and now makes it one of the most important players in the nationwide infrastructure rollout sector.

“We are pleased to expand our presence in Thuringia and the Rhineland with Diroba’s team. Diroba’s expertise in the drilling and JV business will help us to continue to consistently implement our nationwide turnkey strategy,” explains Christoph Lüthe (CSO of vitronet Group).

The vitronet Group focuses on operating as a leading service provider for nationwide fiber optic and energy infrastructure. In a long-term expansion strategy, various specialist companies have been integrated along the value chain in recent years. As of today, the vitronet Group comprises 23 operating subsidiaries, including Bergert Group, Clemens Reuschenbach GmbH, Dankers Bohrtechnik GmbH, Energieservice Sandmann GmbH, Horstmann GmbH, HJ Tief- und Rohrleitungsbau GmbH, Heinz Lütkemeier GmbH & Co. KG, ISKA Schön GmbH, IMD Group, KronoBau GmbH, Reinhard Rohrbau GmbH, Leinberger Bau GmbH, STG Group, Sandmann GmbH, Telewenz GmbH, Triopt Group, vitronet Projekte, vitronet-z, vitronet Tiefbau GmbH and the Meyer Strassenbau Group.

“The acquisition of DIROBA GmbH & Co. KG reflects the fourth successful transaction for the vitronet Group in 2021 and the twelfth transaction since 2019. We are very pleased to make a decisive contribution to establishing the vitronet group as a rising market player in Germany. This not only underlines our longstanding successful partnership with the vitronet Group but also our special expertise in the field of telecommunications/broadband expansion in Germany. We are looking forward to further exciting cooperation”, adds Christian Grandin, Managing Partner at Livingstone Partners Düsseldorf.
